Pi Ware
is originally from Tempe, Arizona. He received degrees in both English
and Spanish from the University of Virginia. After college, he moved
to Madrid to work as a camera assistant on several Spanish films, including
Pedro Almódovar’s The Flower of My Secret .
He returned to the U.S. to study graduate filmmaking at Loyola Marymount
University before joining the Los Angeles-based film collective, Filmmakers
Alliance . Pi also assisted producer Matthew Greenfield on the
independent feature film, Star Maps, and worked on the production
of L.A. Confidential . He is a published fiction writer
and the editor of the Filmmakers Alliance Magazine.
Pi has written and directed three award-winning short films, including “My Beautiful Me” , a dark comedy that screened at the AFI Film Festival and found distribution with Warner Brothers on the DVD, SHORT Cinema Journal . Solitude is his debut feature-length film. Pi is happy to announce his recent marriage to his long-time partner, Susan Kraker. Husband and wife are currently at work finishing the script for their new feature film, Wait for the Laugh .
Susan Kraker, originally from New York, has been working as a writer, director and performer since 1986. She has written and produced two critically acclaimed one-woman shows, NarciSusan (New York City), a comedy about the world of inimitable family dsyfunction, and Fall of '95 (Los Angeles), a look at the struggle for autonomy and personal survival. Susan graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and attended the counseling psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Southern California. She was also an original member of The New York Deaf Theater. She currently holds a BA in Theater, an MA in psychology and is a host on KPFK's weekly radio show, "Feminist Magazine" , on Pacifica Radio, Los Angeles. Susan has collaborated
previously with her husband, Pi Ware, on the short film, "My
Beautiful Me" (Warner Brothers). Solitude marks her feature
filmmaking debut. |

Hilary Six Producer Hilary Six has been producing and directing for more than ten years. She was the founder and Artistic Director of Avalon Repertory Theater on Manhattan's Upper West Side. In 1998, Hilary relocated to Los Angeles to pursue filmmaking. Since then she has worked in Development for the Academy Award winning producer, Jerome Hellman, (Midnight Cowboy, Coming Home ), and as a Production Manager, Line Producer and Producer on several independent films including Leela and The Dogwalker . Solitude, Hilary's debut into movie producing, was an experience that inspired her to work on challenging films with cutting-edge filmmakers. Hilary is currently developing
several projects, including Black River Falls, a semi-finalist
in the Nicholl Fellowship. |

Jon Lawrence Producer Jon Lawrence comes from a broad background in both studio (Walt Disney and New Line Cinema) and independent film production. He also produced on the 2001 Sundance Film Festival award-winning short film, Sweet , shot by five-time Academy Award Nominated cinematographer, Allan Daviau, ASC. Jon has also directed on a number of other productions, including the action thriller, Killing Castro . He is
currently involved in completing Joey Dedio's
highly anticipated feature, Downtown, starring John
Savage and Domenica Cameron Scorsese, prepping to direct the
24P feature Stuck (also with Joey Dedio), and recently
launched a new independent production company, Koso Films.
In addition, Jon was recently invited to speak about directing
in High Definition at Columbia University's Producers and Directors
Club in New York. Jon is also a regular contributor to Filmmakers
Alliance Magazine, and a guest contributor to the industry trade
publication Film & Video Magazine. |

Thomas Ethan Harris Thomas Ethan Harris holds a Masters Degree in Critical Studies/Screenwriting from the University of Southern California, School of Cinema-Television. From 1996-2001 Thomas served as Programming Director for the highly regarded Los Angeles Film Festival (formerly LAIFF), which has emerged as one of North America's most influential film festivals. Under his guidance, the LAFF has introduced such films as The Cruise (Artisan), The Chateau (IFC), Dead Man (Miramax), George Washington (Cowboy), Kissing Jessica Stein (Fox Searchlight), Sidewalks of New York (Paramount Classics), Wendigo (Content Films) and the Academy Award-nominated Colors Straight Up . Mr. Harris is also the co-creator (with Margot Gerber) of the American Cinematheque's Alternative Screen, Los Angeles' acclaimed premiere showcase dedicated to providing an ongoing public venue for new American independent films. Mr. Harris has served as a film consultant for many motion pictures, including The Blair Witch Project , The Magic of Marciano and Kissing Jessica Stein . Currently, Mr. Harris is producing Tony Barbieri's third feature, Girdy Hiser . |

Andrew M. Somers Co-Producer Andy Somers has been doing production and post-production for over 23 years. He began in broadcast radio in 1979 and then segued into television and film. His motion picture credits include The Thin Red Line, Flubber, Clueless, Grumpier Old Men, How High, Deep Impact, Deep Blue Sea, The Peacemaker and Rasputin. His television credits include Fallen Angels, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, JAG , and Beakman's World , for which he received an Emmy Award for his sound design. On Solitude, Andy is a co-producer as well as supervising sound editor. |

Marco Fargnoli Director of Photography Marco Fargnoli began his career in Chicago's independent film community, shooting low-budget features and music videos. He relocated to Los Angeles five years ago and enjoys being busier than he ever has in his life. His 2nd Unit Director/DP work can be seen in the recent HBO action film A Better Way to Die. His TV and Documentary work includes such clients as The History Channel, Travel Channel, Gameshow Network, and The Sundance Institute, and his features and short films have picked up awards at Houston Worldfest, BACA, Cinequest, and the HBO Short Film Award. Marco's latest projects are the indie features Time of Fear and String Theory , both currently in post-production. |

Tom Sanders
Editor Tom Sanders caught the movie bug early, winning scholarships with his short films in High School, crewing feature films during college, and selling his first screenplay months after graduation. Tom cut his editing teeth on award-winning short documentaries for several years and then began editing dramatic shorts and features. In 2001 he created the live action web series Dark Commandos and in 2002 directed his first feature, Evil Remains.

Andrew Gross Since scoring his first movie, Bio Dome, at the age of 25, Andrew Gross has been busy scoring features and television shows, including Overnight Delivery (New Line), 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag (Orion), and The King of Queens (CBS). Andrew also did the string arrangements for the debut album of Jack Black's band, Tenacious D. Last year Andrew's score for Dead Simple (Artisan) was released, and he looks forward to the release of two of his other film scores, Buying the Cow (Sony/Screen Gems) and The Good Girl (Myriad Films), starring Jennifer Aniston and directed by Miguel Arteta. Scoring Solitude gave Andrew the opportunity to explore the dark side of the human psyche and assemble a small ensemble of violins, piano, tuned bells and ambient synths to create the gentle, haunting score. Andrew is currently scoring My Dinner with Jimi (Rhino Films), which chronicles the band, The Turtles', first trip to London in 1968.
